Why is this important?
According to the NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, extreme heat events have long threatened public health. High temperatures also have harmful impacts to the environment and the nation’s infrastructure. Fortunately, education and planning can prepare residents for periods of excessive heat.
This indicator tracks the number of days where the temperatures have been greater than 90 degrees in Skagit County within a year.
